Forum Italics

ITALICS, in collaboration with the Milan Triennale, presents Forum ITALICS. The first edition of an event conceived to reflect upon and discuss the present and future role of galleries as cultural enterprises.

Forum ITALICS 2023 is an opportunity for representatives of the most important Italian art institutions and galleries to get together with experts in the field, engage the public and encourage open discussion.

Confronted with the rise of mega-cities, will historic cities be subjected to processes aimed at gentrification and mass tourism? Can they be saved from decline through a new poetics of residential reuse? Will they be welcoming and inspiring for the creativity of the younger generations? These are just some of the questions that Professor Settis, archaeologist, art historian and academic of the Lincei, will try to answer.

Vincenzo de Bellis, Director of Trade Fairs and Exhibition Platforms at Art Basel, Fosbury Architecture, the design and architecture collective that will curate the Italian Pavilion at the Architecture Biennale 2023, and Cristiana Perrella, curator of Panorama 2023, will hold a panel discussion on Cultural actions in the territory: responsibilities and utopias.

The discussion will focus on impacts and perspectives generated by art and culture projects in unusual regions and places.
