Galleria Lorcan O’Neill

Gianni Politi, "The Last Stand", 2021, exhibition view, Lorcan O'Neil, Roma

Galleria Lorcan O’Neill opened in 2003 as a space for contemporary art in Rome. The gallery works with international artists – including Martin Creed, Tracey Emin, Anselm Kiefer, Richard Long, Kiki Smith, Jeff Wall and Rachel Whiteread – most of whom showed in Italy for the first time at the gallery. Part of our programme is dedicated to exhibiting influential Italian artists such as Enrico Castellani, Francesco Clemente, Giorgio Griffa, Luigi Ontani and Emilio Prini. We also show and support a younger generation of artists, some of whom exhibited with us for their first time: Celia Hempton, Eddie Peake, Gianni Politi, and Prem Sahib. In 2014 the gallery moved to a large 17th century building in the heart of Rome, offering more exhibition rooms as well as outdoor space; these new premises allow us to add readings, screenings and performances to our programme.
