Palazzo Scaglia di Verrua is a magnificent exemplar of late 16th-century architecture and the only building in Turin<\/a> to preserve a Renaissance plan and frescoes, neither altered during the Baroque period nor destroyed in the 20th-century bombardments. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I have always been fascinated by its succession of two courtyards and its facade, frescoed in the 17th century with scenes from Ovid\u2019s Metamorphosis<\/em>. Inside, the original coffered ceilings and vaults have been preserved thanks to careful restoration. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I chose this building as the new site for my gallery<\/a> not only for its aesthetic qualities but also for its centrality. The building is located in Turin\u2019s old town, in the Quadrilatero, a vibrant neighbourhood filled with small restaurants, wine bars and artisan workshops. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
