“The purchase that pays off is the one made out of passion and not financial calculation.”

In conversation with Sonia Farsetti, Galleria d’Arte Frediano Farsetti

Tell us about your background.

Although I graduated in law, my enthusiasm and desire to continue the family business took precedence.

Your program: what kind of art do you handle?

Italian and foreign modern and contemporary art.

What are your criteria for selecting the artists you represent?

We usually work with well-established names but in recent years we have also staged solo and group exhibitions for contemporary artists, both Italian and foreign. As for selection criteria, we try to anticipate the interests of the public while always remaining consistent with the history of our gallery.

Have you learned anything important from an artist or collector?

The purchase that pays off is the one made out of passion and not financial calculation.

Which work of art would you choose to take with you on a desert island?

Les demoiselles d’Avignon by Pablo Picasso.
