Forum Italics 2024

a project by ITALICS
in collaboration with
Fondazione Sandretto Re Rebaudengo

19 March 2024

a day of work and discussion behind closed doors, and a panel discussion open to the public, to stimulate ideas and evaluate future scenarios.

From the evolution of collecting to inclusion, from the need for a common shared language for the entire system to the transformation of the global market, from the change in exhibition spaces to regulating professionals in the sector: ITALICS will focus on these themes at the second edition of the ITALICS FORUM.

Organised this year in collaboration with the Fondazione Sandretto Re Rebaudengo, the FORUM is designed to encourage reflection and exchange on the art system and provide an opportunity to discuss the present and future role of galleries as cultural businesses.

In the first part of the day, the event will take place behind closed doors for associated gallerists participating in seven different round-table work groups that will address priority issues for the sector’s agenda.

THE PANEL DISCUSSION

UN MONDO IN FIAMME. Geopolitica e arte: equilibri e influenze [A WORLD ON FIRE. Geopolitics and art: balances and influences]

a dialogue between Dario Fabbri and Luigi Fassi

from 5.30pm to 7.00pm

Fondazione Sandretto Re Rebaudengo
Via Modane, 16 – Turin

*free admission subject to availability

Dario Fabbri, journalist and analyst, one of the leading experts in geopolitics, and Luigi Fassi, director of Artissima, curator and author, will discuss the complex interconnection between geopolitics and the art system in which political, economic and social contexts profoundly influence the production, distribution and enjoyment of works of art, but also the cultural identity of a country and an era.

The ITALICS 2024 FORUM is being held in Turin with a view to locally preparing the ground for the next edition of Panorama, when Monferrato will be hosting the multi-venue exhibition, from 4 to 8 September 2024, curated by Carlo Falciani.
