Asolo and Brion Cemetery

Amidst the beautiful hills of the Veneto, my region of origin, is Asolo, one of the most enchanting villages in Italy. Its landscape still retains the beauty and charm that must have enchanted Queen Catharine Cornaro, stimulated the imagination of Pietro Bembo as he struggled with his Asolani, and inspired Carducci to call it “the city of a hundred horizons.” A few kilometers away there is another incredibly suggestive site, the Brion Cemetery, one of Carlo Scarpa’s masterpieces.
