Villa Pisani Bonetti: Food, Art and Accommodation in a Palladian Villa

We visited the Villa Pisani Bonetti in Bagnolo di Lonigo for the first time in 2007, when the owners, Manuela Bedeschi and Carlo Bonetti, told us about their interest in breathing new life into this masterpiece from Palladio’s early period through a contemporary lens.
The architectural proportions of the villa and the charm of the main hall immediately drew us in, just like the artists invited over the years to create exhibitions and installations for these spaces, including permanent works.

The project Arte Contemporanea a Villa Pisani, curated by Luca Massimo Barbero and Francesca Pola, was a special opportunity that set the stage for reflecting on the possibility of reforging, in entirely contemporary terms, a positive and constructive relationship between client, artist and viewing public.

Over the years, the Bonetti Bedeschi family has excelled in restoring the magnificence due to this site, including through the renovation of the Barchesse, which is now home to the Relais Art Hotel and a gourmet restaurant.

Villa Pisani Bonetti is unique in Italy, offering a singular experience of Renaissance architecture, Italian cuisine and international contemporary art.

Villa Pisani Bonetti in Bagnolo di Lonigo was designed by Andrea Palladio from 1541, upon his return from his first trip to Rome. It was built in 1544 and 1545 and is possibly the most representative work of the early part of his career, marking the beginning of his collaboration with the Republic of Venice. …
