One excellence in our area with which I feel a strong tie is the Aquapetra Resort & SPA.
This atmospheric tourist complex near Telese Terme is considered among the most virtuous and far-sighted examples in Campania’s services sector.
Surrounded by the kind of dense woods found in many areas of the Sannio, Aquapetra has a very personal concept of resort, perceiving these enchanted places as living organisms and freeing itself from the concept of “beautiful container” to become a “forge of creativity.”
This different attitude is perceived from the first encounter with the territory, free of barriers and borders: there are no recommended routes or impositions of any kind. It is the individual client’s interests that shape how the place is explored and enjoyed.
What struck me was the perfect integration of the new structure with the remains of the abandoned village on which it stands. There are still traces of the village’s historical memory, and this creates and transmits an imagery that is at times mystical.
Furthermore, Aquapetra does not neglect its enogastronomic ties with the territory. It works with products produced locally and hosts chef Luciano Villani’s restaurant, which boasts one Michelin star.
The resort has a dual connection to the world of contemporary art, and collaborates with the collector Fabio Agovino to host the annual artists’ residence, “Parco D’Arte.”
