Points of View: Tony Cragg in Turin

The 2006 Winter Olympics gave Turin a new image, changing many aspects of the city.

Among the boons brought by this event was the opportunity for the Fondazione De Fornaris to purchase Tony Cragg’s stunning sculpture Points of View, which is now installed in Piazza d’Armi in front of the Olympic Stadium built on the old Stadio Delle Alpi, and the Palaolimpico, designed by Japanese architect Arata Isozaki and Italy’s largest sports arena.

Our memories of our own work on this project Points of View by Tony Cragg are filled with pleasure and a bit of pride: technical discussions, emails, trips to the foundry in Düsseldorf for the production of the three elliptical bronze columns more than 10 meters high… To put it succinctly: an experience as wonderful as the result!
